Scope and controller information
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when a person visits houseofappliances.shop, places an order, creates an account, contacts customer service, subscribes to marketing, or otherwise interacts with the store. The store operator determines the purposes and means of this processing and is therefore the data controller for store-level processing.
Privacy enquiries and requests may be sent to info@houseofappliances.shop. A complete controller identity and postal address must also appear in the Legal Notice. Because those details have not been supplied for this document, customers should not interpret the domain name alone as a complete legal identity disclosure.
Personal data we collect
Identity and contact data, such as name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number when supplied, and account details.
Order and transaction data, including products, prices, payment status, returns, refunds, warranties, correspondence, and fraud-prevention signals. Complete card details are normally handled by payment providers rather than stored by us.
Technical and usage data, including IP address, device and browser information, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referral source, approximate location, checkout activity, and security logs.
Customer-service content, such as messages, photos, videos, appliance model or serial-number information, and troubleshooting details voluntarily provided.
Marketing preferences and interactions, including consent status, newsletter engagement, and choices made through cookie controls.
Purposes and legal bases
We process data only where a legal basis applies. Contract performance supports order handling, payment coordination, delivery, returns, refunds, account functions, and requested support. Legal obligations support accounting, tax, product-safety, recall, fraud-reporting, and consumer-law records.
Legitimate interests may support securing the store, preventing abuse, defending legal claims, improving operations, measuring non-intrusive performance, and communicating with existing customers about closely related matters where permitted. We balance those interests against individual rights. Consent supports optional marketing, non-essential cookies, personalised advertising, and any other activity for which consent is legally required. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Shopify and service providers
The store is hosted through Shopify. Shopify and its affiliated service providers may process data to provide commerce hosting, checkout, security, analytics, and platform functions. Depending on the activity, Shopify may act as a processor, independent controller, or joint participant as described in its own privacy materials.
We may share necessary data with payment processors, fraud-prevention providers, carriers, fulfilment partners, customer-support systems, email providers, analytics vendors, professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies where legally required, and prospective business successors subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data in the ordinary meaning of exchanging it directly for money.
International transfers
Shopify and other providers may process data outside France or the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we seek to rely on a lawful transfer mechanism such as European Commission standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary safeguards where appropriate. Transfers may also occur where otherwise permitted by GDPR.
Cookies and similar technologies
Strictly necessary technologies may be used to operate the cart, checkout, security, network routing, language, and privacy preferences. Optional analytics, advertising, or personalisation technologies are used only after valid consent where required. The consent interface should allow users to accept, refuse, and later change optional choices with comparable ease.
Browser settings can block some technologies, but doing so may impair essential store functions. Cookie duration and provider details should be made available through the active cookie banner or preference centre because the exact technologies can change as Shopify settings and installed applications change.
Marketing communications
We send email marketing only where permitted, including on the basis of consent or another lawful exception. Every marketing email should provide an unsubscribe method. Customers may also object or withdraw consent by writing to info@houseofappliances.shop. Transactional messages about orders, security, product safety, recalls, or service requests are not marketing and may continue when necessary.
Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the relevant purpose, including contract performance, statutory accounting and tax periods, product-safety obligations, warranty and dispute periods, fraud prevention, and legal claims. Data may then be deleted, anonymised, or archived with restricted access. Marketing data is retained until consent is withdrawn, an objection is honoured, or the data is no longer needed, subject to limited suppression records that prevent further contact.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, secure transmission where supported, provider oversight, backups, monitoring, and staff or contractor confidentiality. No internet service is completely secure. Customers should use unique passwords, protect account access, and notify us promptly of suspicious activity.
Your GDPR rights
Access personal data and obtain information about its processing.
Correct inaccurate data and complete incomplete data.
Request erasure where the legal conditions are met.
Request restriction of processing in the cases provided by law.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing.
Receive eligible data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller.
Withdraw consent at any time and obtain information about safeguards for international transfers.
Lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
Exercising rights and identity verification
Send a request to info@houseofappliances.shop. Describe the right you wish to exercise and the relevant account or order. We may request proportionate information to verify identity, but we will not request more data than necessary. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extension for complex or numerous requests, and will explain any extension or refusal.
Children and policy changes
The store is intended for adults able to enter a binding purchase contract. We do not knowingly target children with behavioural advertising or request that children submit orders independently.
We may update this policy when legal requirements, Shopify features, providers, or store practices change. The revised version will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated where legally required.
